Today, I will tell you a grand story, which is our thinking of space and time, and in some sense, what is the role of geometry, mathematics in understanding the universe. This goes back certainly to the beginning of modern science. There is this wonderful image of Galileo, of the book of “Nature”, that is being read, but before to read it, you have to know the language in which it is written, and for Galileo, this was the language of Euclidian mathematics – triangles, circles and other geometrical figures.
