The goal of this online course is to help you to:
1) Refresh your knowledge and improve your understanding of forestry, market economics and forest economics including concepts related to forest policy;
2) Understand the interconnections between forest economics and policies (past and present);
3) Offer you an opportunity to test yourself with an evaluation at the end of each module.
This material is designed as a bridge towards your future studies, while creating a smooth transition from your past understanding towards the new content you will learn. Our aim is to enhance your knowledge in general forestry, forest economics and forest policy to make sure you acquire the same knowledge base as your peers since some of you may come from forest related fields (such as agriculture, biology, horticulture, landscape, etc..) and some perhaps come from different academic disciplines entirely outside of forestry (i.e., economics, business, and political sciences).
There is a wealth of material available to you on forest resources and forestry. One small problem, however, is selecting what to learn in order to create a logical “total picture”. This online course aims to give you that and more. We are offering you the following 3 modules – Forest Resources, Forest Economics and Forest Policy.
